In simple terms, “language” refers to a system of communication used by humans and, in some cases, animals to convey thoughts, ideas, feelings, and information.
It involves the use of words, symbols, and rules to express and understand messages, whether through speech, writing, sign language, or other forms of communication.
Language is a fundamental tool for connecting with others and sharing knowledge and emotions.
Language is the way we motivate people towards a common goal.
Without language organization, countries , society will not be able to evolve as we will be indivitals lost in our own world.
But I would like to share a secret with you , even with the use of languages we are individuals lost in our own world.
As there is a layer to language, our private connection to every word, our own unique interpretation that is base our emotional construct of what it holds for us.
I am sure you have more than one example of a conversation that took place and you and someone else came out of it understanding different things.
How come?
Even though you can open a dictionary and get the common explanation to what a word means you still have an emotional connection to it that can widely change your interpretation.
Working alongside AI makes us dive deeper into the nuances of language.
AI isn’t the first technology to communicate with us, but it’s the first to make recommendations based on its unique understanding of data and human observation.
Unlike misunderstandings between people, which can often be resolved through conversation, AI’s communication can’t be clarified in the same way. This means that we might unintentionally make mistakes by acting on AI recommendations without full awareness.
When we interact with our human colleagues, we can usually manage misunderstandings through discussions and documented processes, especially when it comes to human-made recommendations, which are thoroughly reviewed in various meetings. AI introduces a new way of working, where acting on AI recommendations becomes a daily task for employees supported by AI.
In fact, it’s an expected part of their role.
To emphasize the significance of this challenge, consider that in some cases, AI might be the only entity engaging with customers on certain aspects of their journey.
This unique dynamic can make misunderstandings particularly impactful.
While I personally believe that we can learn and grow from our mistakes, I also recognize the importance of minimizing them.
What can we do?
One key approach is to view and implement AI not solely for productivity but as a non-human employee.
It’s a significant shift that we may not fully grasp yet, and it will continue to evolve as our understanding of AI deepens.
As a shorter term solution I recomend desgining a strategy centered around gathering customer feedback is crucial.
Misunderstandings can often be resolved through traditional human interactions. Customers are the best source for feedback regarding AI recommendations, whether suggested or activated.
In this age of non-human communication through language, maintaining a human connection by seeking our customers’ input is essential.
From me:
Language is an amazing tool we use every day in our personal and work lives.
Understanding it deeply is vital because AI is changing the way we use and understand language.
To navigate this new world, we need knowledge and awareness.
Without them, we risk becoming passive followers of AI’s recommendations.
This could cost us our ability to question and, more importantly, our creativity.
This is a place to gain the knowledge that fuels your creativity.
It’s not just about accepting change; it’s about broadening your thinking.
I’m excited for the journey ahead. With AI, we’re going to places we’ve never been before.
I’m always excited about new experiences, even if they’re not physical.
