AI’s integration into our daily lives is truly amazing, isn’t it?

When we seek insights into AI success, it’s essential to realize that success is already here.

The reason we’ve reached this point is our view of AI as a means to enhance productivity and efficiency. 

But to progress, we need to change precisely this mindset. We must see AI for more than just that; there’s a wealth of untapped potential beyond productivity and efficiency. It’s about thinking bigger.

To unlock AI’s true potential, we should shift away from labeling its output through that lens and adopt a broader perspective. 

We should consider AI’s output as what we call “mind-made forms.”



But what are “mind-made forms”? 

They are mental constructs that influence how we perceive and interact with the world. They include our beliefs, values, and the mental frameworks we use to understand our surroundings. 

These constructs can encompass cultural norms, organizational values, personal beliefs, and even societal concepts like money, time, and democracy. While intangible, they profoundly shape our individual and collective realities, affecting our decisions, actions, and how we interpret the world around us.

These mental constructs form the foundation of what binds organizations together.



So, what’s the glue that holds organizations together?

It’s having a common purpose, shared values, and clear goals. It also involves effective leadership, teamwork, open communication, celebrating achievements, resolving conflicts, and adapting to change, among other positive factors.

Interestingly, none of these “glue” factors are tangible or physical; you can’t touch or see them. Yet, they wield tremendous influence and create genuine value in the world. 

These are the “mind-made forms” because they exist in our thoughts and beliefs, guiding how organizations function and achieve their objectives.



How does AI fit into this picture?

AI serves as a tool that can learn, offer suggestions, make observations, assist with decisions, and communicate through text and voice, just like a real team member. 

All these functions are essentially “mind-made forms” existing solely in our thoughts. 

What’s unique is that for the first time, we have “mind-made forms” that aren’t created by humans.

This places us at a remarkable point in human evolution, as we harness the power of mind-made forms that originate from a non-human source.

Why is this understanding important? 

It’s crucial because by recognizing this fact, we understand that we’re not simply implementing a tool; we’re bringing on a new employee, the first-ever non-human one.

Accepting this idea enables us to grasp that the next stage of AI success requires defining a vision for the new organizational partnership between AI and human employees. 

This involves making changes to various aspects of the organization, such as processes, cultural values, decision-making, leadership, training, and more.

At the core of this partnership is the quest for balance between the two counterparts, allowing both to showcase their strengths. 

AI excels in data analysis, pattern recognition, and providing recommendations, while the human counterpart thrives in creative thinking and needs to maintain his critical ability questioning of AI.

Only this kind of vision will enable organizations to create a new future and harness the true potential of AI investment.
