In my previous blog, I delved into the concept of the importance of creative thinking in the age of AI.
Our belief that human creativity can outskill AI, and the understanding that without grasping human cognitive thinking, we might struggle to live up to this statement.
Now let’s go back to the basics. Our Thoughts.
Thoughts are what form the foundation of human creation.
Whether it’s music, art, science, literature, or technology, every single thing we’ve created as humans started as thoughts in someone’s head.
With the entrance of AI, we’re stepping into new territory!
And thoughts have their roots in information.
AI is the new oracle that holds all the recorded knowledge.
Now, let’s understand what thoughts are and how they are the driver to our creations and what information has to do with it.
Thoughts are mental processes that help us make sense of what’s around us, our emotions, and our ideas.
They come in both conscious and unconscious flows, shaping how we see things, decide, and come up with new things. They’re super important for reasoning, making choices, solving problems, and sparking creativity.
The connection between thoughts and what we call human creation is profound.
Thoughts set off human creativity, acting like the building blocks in our minds for fresh ideas and new concepts.
Thoughts take in information by mixing knowledge, experience, and emotions to build unique ideas.
These lead to original connections that nurture creativity.
For example, an artist thinking about colors, shapes, and feelings can make a painting that expresses emotions. Thoughts drive creativity, giving us the power to explore, imagine, and try things out. They give birth to ideas, designs, inventions, and art. The start of human creation lies in thoughts, guiding projects and choices.
Information…
Information is the rock upon which human creation is built.
Without information, there would be no thoughts.
Information makes thoughts happen; it’s everything we learn, experience, and absorb.
Minds process information, leading to thoughts that can turn into new ideas.
Human creation is the result of turning thoughts into real things—like art, theories, and technology. Information feeds thoughts; thoughts fuel creation.
AI helps us get knowledge more easily, but we need to seek different insights.
AI makes delivering information simple, but our questions make our thoughts diverse, making our understanding richer.
Here’s a picture of how humans learn after AI becomes a part of our lives:
Imagine a world where artificial intelligence (AI) blends seamlessly into human society, changing how we learn.
With AI’s huge ability to handle loads of information, learning becomes a personalized and ever-changing experience.
In this future, AI becomes a massive storehouse of information that keeps updating itself with the latest data from around the world.
When someone wants to know something, they talk to AI-powered systems using natural language, just like talking to a knowledgeable friend.
Let’s say there’s a student named Sarah who wants to learn about ancient civilizations.
Instead of reading textbooks, she chats with an AI learning program.
Through this virtual chat, Sarah shares her interest, and the AI picks out a custom-made learning plan for her.
It selects fun videos, interactive activities, and expert-written articles that match her style of learning and how fast she goes.
While Sarah studies, the AI watches how she’s doing and changes the learning materials as needed.
If she struggles with something, the AI explains it more or offers other resources.
Because the AI understands her strengths and areas that need work, she gets a learning journey that’s just for her.
AI also changes how people find information in their daily lives.
Let’s say John wants to travel to a foreign country.
He asks his AI helper for advice on places to visit, food to try, and travel tips.
The AI uses big databases and real-time info to give him instant, correct, and up-to-date answers based on what he learned about John.
Which means that in both cases they will get the information based on what AI learned about them.
That will define what information they will presented with and they will be blocked within their Status Quo, within their likes and dislikes.
Ultimately bound within what AI will provide them as information.
Which will be information based on documented information, ratings, and their internal structures.
No inreached information is going to be presented to them.
That will Limits their thoughts and dissection process and perspectives.
In John’s example, this does not allow him to gain new experiences out side his comfort zone even-though he is going to a new country, and for Sarah, it results in a very narrow viewpoint.
They will not be able to create anything beyond what is already done!!! Existing and within their comfort zone.
In this time, AI knows us well and guides the info we get.
But if we don’t ask questions, AI might control what we learn, and our creativity could come from AI, not our own thoughts.
In this partnership, our job is to ask questions, get lots of different insights to keep our creative thinking going.
Think of AI as a really good friend who knows you well. But, like a good friend, AI might try to keep you comfy.
But in the world of AI, staying comfy is not the best for us.
If we stick to what’s comfy, our creativity could will belong to AI.
PS –
Can we do it?
I am not sure.
But I’m excited about what AI could do. For us as humans.
I am here to reminder us what we are capable of and how to make sure we keep it in the ever-changing landscape of AI.
I am the reminder making sure humans remember our abilities so we don’t forget them.
Even with AI around, we still play a huge role in being creative and exploring knowledge.
